Mike Scott and Steve Wickham of The Waterboys performed a special acoustic show for a VIP invited audience of Brookdale Public Radio members. On the eve of the release (finally) of their album An Appointment With Mr Yeats they made their New Jersey debut a night of magic. Mike Scott greeted the audience by proclaiming that it was the first time that he and Steve (or The Waterboys) had ever played in NJ. That got the already very excited crowd even more amped. The set list was, not surprisingly, heavy on the Yeats album, but did include a number of Waterboys classics to please the longtime fans in attendance. They included, among others, “Fisherman’s Blues,” “A Man Is In Love,” and “Pan Within,” as well as a crowd rousing version of “Will The Circle Be Unbroken.”
